### Filter and sort reports

You can use the filter panel to quickly find reports.

![find reports with filtering](https://documentation-g2-com-images.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/report-library-filter-reports.png)

G2 offers the following filter options:

- Report type: Filter reports by type.
- Company size: Filter reports by market segment.
- Category: Filter reports by G2 category.
- Season: Filter reports by season.
- Competitors: Find reports that include specific competitors from a shared G2 category.

The competitors filter acts as an `AND` filter – a report must include all of the selected competitors to be returned in the results.

You can sort reports by rank or title by selecting the corresponding column.

You must license a report or have an active G2 content subscription to create and share compare reports. For more information on licensing reports, please contact your G2 sales representative.

To access more details about a report, select **Open**.

### Create a new compare report

You can easily create new compare reports each reporting season for use in sales and marketing campaigns.

You can create new compare reports using only data from the most recently published reporting season. For more details about G2’s report schedule refer to [G2 Report dates](https://documentation.g2.com/docs/report-library#g2-report-dates) section.

To create a new compare report:

1. In [my.G2](https://my.g2.com/~/reports_library), go to **Marketing Content** > **Report Library**.
2. Select **Compare**, then select **Create a Compare Report**.

![image showing create a compare report button in my.g2](https://documentation-g2-com-images.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/compare-report-create-button.png)

1. Select a *Category*, choose up to five products to compare, and select the *Company Size*.

:::(Info) If you modify the company size field, the compare report uses only data from reviews submitted by users who are employed by a company within a particular market segment.

G2 uses the following definitions for market segments:

- Small Business: 50 or fewer employees
- Mid-Market: 51–1,000 employees
- Enterprise: 1,001+ employees

:::

You can only choose categories and corresponding competitors for categories that you have licensed in your content subscription.

1. Select **Next**.
2. Select the checkbox for each row you would like to include in the report.

:::(Info) A product must receive a minimum of 10 responses to the corresponding review form questions to be included in a compare report. Products without enough data will not appear in published reports. :::

![image showing a product with not enough data](https://documentation-g2-com-images.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/compare-not-enough-data.png)

1. (Optional) You can use the drag handles to rearrange the order rows appear.

![demo showing how to rearrange rows on the compare report](https://documentation-g2-com-images.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/compare-report-arrange.gif)

1. Select **Save** to view a preview of your compare report.
2. Select **Publish** to publish the report and generate a tokenized link.

You must select **Publish** to publish your compare report and generate a shareable link. Selecting **Save** does not store a draft of the report.

Published compare reports appear within the *Compare* tab in my.G2. Select **Copy link** to copy a shareable URL for the report to your clipboard.

### Editing a compare report

G2 does not store versions of reports, so editing a compare report replaces the existing version. You can only edit reports for the most recently published reporting season.

Compare reports are aggregated by reporting season. For more details about G2’s report schedule refer to [G2 Report dates](https://documentation.g2.com/docs/report-library#g2-report-dates) section.

To edit a report, select **Edit**.

![image showing edit icon in my.g2](https://documentation-g2-com-images.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/compare-report-edit-report.png)

Select **Publish** to publish your updated compare report.

![image showing publish button in the compare report editor](https://documentation-g2-com-images.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/compare-report-publish.png)

Selecting **Save** does not update your published report. You must select **Publish** in order to update your compare report.

Within the *Compare* tab, unpublished reports appear with a lock icon.
