Insert a G2 Star Rating widget in a HubSpot email

G2’s Star Rating Widget can be used to either highlight current product reviews or drive product users to leave new G2 reviews. Review the Star Rating widget documentation to learn more.

To place a G2 Star Rating Widget in a HubSpot email, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to my.G2.com and log in.
  2. Go to the Marketing Content > Widgets > Star Rating Widget tab.

  1. Find the Star Rating Widget type and style that you want to use and select Copy embed for it.
  2. Go to your HubSpot environment, and then select Marketing > Email.
  3. In the Marketing Email page, select Create email and then choose an email type, or select the title of an existing email to edit it.
  4. If you create a new email, choose an email template to continue. Custom templates do require basic knowledge of HTML. If you are editing an existing email, choose the appropriate path from steps 7 or 8.
  5. For Drag and drop email templates:
    1. In the left-hand side bar, select the Content tab and then select + More.
    2. Select and drag the HTML - Email module into the email layout.
    3. In the left-hand side bar under Edit HTML, highlight and delete the current HTML. Then, paste in the Star Rating Widget embed code copied in step 3. The email preview should update with the G2 widget immediately.

HubSpotEmails_StarRatingWidget

  1. For Custom email templates:
    1. In the left-hand side bar, select the Content tab and then select the area of the email that will host the widget (for example, Main Email Body). Not all areas of the email can host a G2 widget.
    2. In the editing bar that appears at the top of the email preview area, select Advanced > Source Code.
    3. Find the spot in the HTML code where the G2 widget should be inserted, and then paste in the Star Rating Widget embed code copied in step 3.
    4. Select Save changes to return to the email builder. The email preview should update with the G2 widget immediately.
  2. Select the Settings and Send/Send or schedule tabs at the top of the email preview area. Here, you should select or enter options for all mandatory fields at a minimum. For example, you should enter a Subject line for your email.
  3. Select Send a test email to send a copy of the email to yourself and others to review. Select the G2 widget that you placed in the email to ensure that your recipients are being directed to the appropriate G2 resource.
  4. For automated emails, select Review and save and then Save for automation to finish creating a new email, or Review and update and then Update to finish updating an existing email. Then, go to the Workflows section of your HubSpot environment and add the email to a workflow.
    • For regular emails, select Review and send and then Send to send the email to the intended recipients.

Changing your password will log you out immediately. Use the new password to log back in.
