Review Refresh enables you to request updated reviews from your existing reviewer base, helping you maintain a current, trusted presence on G2.

Basics of Review Refresh
A Review Refresh campaign re-engages past reviewers through a simplified form to improve review recency and visibility in G2 filters.
Each product has only one Review Refresh campaign. Once you activate it, the campaign is "Always On": G2 recalculates reviewer eligibility every month and automatically sends refresh emails on that cadence for as long as the campaign stays active.
You can request a refresh for reviews submitted between seven months and four years ago. Updated reviews retain the original content and add new feedback. Each reviewer can only be contacted once every six months, even if you change the incentive type between sends. Reviewers become eligible again automatically once the cooldown ends, and you can't manually re-trigger a send or retarget them sooner.
Reviewers are automatically excluded if they no longer have a G2 account, previously unsubscribed from review requests, were flagged as spam, use a free email domain, or are restricted by privacy regulations.
Eligibility checks, along with the six-month reviewer cooldown, may reduce the final reviewer list compared to your total number of decayed reviews.
Refreshed reviews qualify for incentives, even if the original review was rewarded. If incentives are enabled, reviewers can earn an Amazon.com or Global Choice gift card for completing the refresh. Both options give reviewers access to 100+ global gift card brands.
Incentivized campaigns require a minimum budget allocation of $5,000, and gift card amounts are limited to the denominations available for these two options; custom amounts aren't supported.

Reviewers receive an email request with a secure login link. The refresh form asks for an updated rating, details about what has changed or could improve, and any new product categories. Reviewers can also select I no longer use this product to opt out.

Requesting a Review Refresh campaign

- Go to my.G2 > Reviews > Refresh Reviews.
- In the Campaign Details panel, enter the Desired Start Date and Campaign Title.
- In the Campaign Budget panel, select whether the campaign will be Incentivised or Non-incentivized, then select the Gift Card Type and Gift Card Amount.
- To add funds to your Current Campaign Balance, enter an amount in the How much more budget do you want to add? field. To add funds to your Available Account Balance, select Purchase More Funds.
If your campaign balance runs out before all eligible reviewers are contacted, remaining reviewers automatically see the non-incentivized version of the refresh request. The campaign keeps running without interruption.
For more information on adding funds to your campaign landing page, refer to the Campaign Dashboard documentation.
- Select Launch Campaign.
G2 sends one initial email and one follow-up reminder to eligible users.
Your campaign goes live immediately once you launch it; you won't receive a confirmation notification.
From that point on, it sends automatically on the monthly cadence set by your original start date, and the send date can't be edited afterward. The dashboard's displayed date also doesn't update if you later deactivate and reactivate the campaign. If you notice a mismatch, contact your G2 representative.
Updated reviews appear on G2.com with an updated timestamp.

Refreshing reviews improves your review recency metric.
When a reviewer updates their existing review, the review decay resets and the review regains scoring weight.
Using your campaign link
While a campaign is active, its campaign link works for existing reviewers who log in with a matching email; visitors who aren't past reviewers are taken to the standard review form instead. If you deactivate the campaign, the link still works, but it no longer tracks visits back to the campaign or supports incentives.
Because each product has only one Review Refresh campaign, the link is tied to that single campaign. You can't request a new campaign link.
Editing or deactivating a campaign

To deactivate a campaign:
- Go to my.G2 > Reviews > Review Refresh.
- Set the Review Refresh Campaign slider to Inactive.
Deactivating cancels all future sends; it doesn't delete or reset the campaign. If you reactivate it, the next send is set for one month after your last send, or for the next applicable date if that date has already passed.
Monitoring campaign performance
After launch, track progress in the Review Refresh metrics table.

- Sent reflects reviewers queued for delivery, not confirmed delivery. G2 applies additional filters, such as marketable status, previous bounces, and recent email activity, before emails actually go out, so the number of reviewers who receive the email may be lower than the count shown. Bounce and non-delivery data isn't available to customers.
- Queued shows how many reviewers are lined up for the next scheduled send.
- Reviews Submitted and Reviews Approved track completion of the refresh form and QA approval.
Because each product has only one Review Refresh campaign, these metrics are cumulative across the campaign's full history, including any past active and inactive periods.
You can review submitted reviews in your dashboard's Review Activity filters, but you can't filter them specifically by Review Refresh as the source. You also can't target specific reviewer segments; the campaign automatically includes all eligible reviewers within the seven-month to four-year window.
