Why was my review rejected

Prev Next

G2 reviews go through a manual moderation process to make sure every submission is authentic, professional, and helpful to software buyers. Below are common reasons a review might be rejected, along with tips for fixing them.

If your review is rejected, you can see the reason by logging in to your G2 account and checking the My Reviews section.

All reviews must follow the rules outlined in:

To protect account security and ensure a safe experience, G2 may be unable to approve reviews or process gift cards if suspicious activity is detected. Reviews that violate the policies above are not eligible for publication.

Common rejection reasons

Missing verification details

Your survey response is missing details confirming your genuine use of the product. Consider enhancing your survey responses with more accurate detail, or uploading a screenshot showing your current or recent usage of the product.

For more information about how to upload a screenshot, refer to the Uploading a screenshot for review verification documentation.

Company affiliation couldn't be verified

G2’s moderation team uses company information to verify professional use of the product or service.

How to fix this depends on how you created your account:

LinkedIn: Ensure your job information is up to date. If there’s nothing more to add, consider including a screenshot showing your company information in the review, adding a business email to your account, or obtaining a Verification.

Business email: If your email domain doesn’t open to your business website or if you are using a non-standard domain, it may be flagged. Try linking your LinkedIn profile or submitting a screenshot showing company info.

Gmail: Uploading a screenshot showing your current or recent usage of the product is required if you are submitting a review using your personal gmail account. If a screenshot is not available or not possible, consider adding your Linkedin profile or business email to your G2 account.

You're an employee or competitor

To remain a source of unbiased peer reviews, G2 does not accept reviews from current or former employees of the product or service being reviewed, nor do we accept reviews from direct competitors.

Unverified username

G2’s moderation team can only approve reviews from users with verified identities. Be sure to provide your real name when submitting your review. If you prefer privacy, you can remain anonymous by selecting No for Allow my review to show my name and face in the G2 community at the end of your review.

Duplicate review

G2 only allows one review per person, per product, regardless of how many accounts on G2 you own.

Review flagged as AI-generated

G2 only accepts genuine, original reviews that reflect real user experiences. AI-generated reviews are not allowed, as they don’t represent authentic user perspectives. If your review was rejected for this reason, please rewrite it in your own words. Our team will re-moderate it within 3 business days.

Exceptions apply to this rule. Please refer to G2’s [Community Guidelines] (https://legal.g2.com/community-guidelines) for more information regarding our AI in reviews policy.

Outdated experience

G2’s moderation process requires confirmation of recent professional use of the product (within the last 2 years). We could not verify this for your review. If your usage meets this requirement, please provide additional details or clarify your recent experience, and consider adding a screenshot to support your review.

G2 verifies that each review comes from users with firsthand product experience. If your review was not approved, ensure your feedback is based on personal use and include specific details about how you use the product in your daily work to help with verification.

Product not on G2

The product you reviewed is not currently approved to be listed on G2. If it becomes available on G2.com, your review will be added automatically. We appreciate your patience and thank you for your contribution to the G2 community.

Other rejection reasons

For further assistance, please contact G2 Support.

Our team will make every effort to help you address the issue; however, G2 reserves the right to uphold a rejection if the review does not comply with our published guidelines.

How to resubmit

You can revise your review by logging into your G2 user account and editing the rejected submission. It will be re-moderated within 3 business days.
